What We Believe

At Mountain Grove First Baptist Church We Exist to R.U.N.
R - Relationship
We first want every person to enter into a relationship with Jesus Christ.  We believe that this is the first priority in the life of any person on planet earth.  A person needs this relationship in order to be with God both here on earth and after this life is over.  In order to find out more about how to begin this relationship, please click here.

We also believe that God intends for us to have relationships with other people.  We provide opportunity for these relationships to develop though our small groups and fellowship opportunities.  Our calendar will tell you about all of the events in which you can be involved.  Our small group Bible studies meet from 9:40AM to 10:50AM every Sunday morning.

U - Unique You
God has gifted you with talents and abilities that He intends you use to serve.  At First Baptist we long to help you develop those God given gifts for use in the local church, on the mission field and in your daily life.  We ask that each new person who comes to our church complete a short survey that determines what gifts you posses.  We then point you to places to serve that match your gifts.  In this way we are all a part of a body of believers working together to accomplish the purpose of God from Mountain Grove to the world.

N - Neighbors
Jesus commanded His followers to be His witnesses in "Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost parts of the earth."  We encourage the people who come to First Baptist to do just that.  We all reach out to those who cross our paths.  These are our neighbors.  They may not live next door to us.  They may never come to Mountain grove.  No matter where they live geographically, we believe that they need to see and hear the good news of a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our church is a Southern Baptist Convention and Missouri Baptist Convention Church.
We hold firmly to the doctrinal statement of Southern Baptist.
This is known as the Baptist Faith and Message.
